Royal Rooster Hotpot Reviews

This place is a gem! I'm so happy they opened this location! I was sad when the one on Main Street closed down due to a fire but the chef came to this location! The service was great and the coconut chicken was so juicy and tender. My dad is from Hainan so I can say the taste is definitely authentic. They even have clay pot rice! The casserole was very flavorful too. This is going to be our new spot from now on! I highly recommend this place. Definitely try their coconut dessert ~ to die for!

One of my favorites... the coconut chicken soup is so delicious, mildly sweet to perfection. The chicken that comes with it is also very tender and juicy! However, my favorite is the Hainanese Chicken and the sauces on the table... one of the best in NYC

Finally got to try the original spot and I could definitely taste the difference. The quality is superior...chicken was fresh and tender, marinated perfectly to balance the sweetness of the fresh coconut broth they used. This is such a clean and healthy alternative to your usual hot pot spots with the oily broths. Would come back to this one over and over again. The service here was also exceptional. The waiters were super friendly and attentive to all my annoying requests. The owner also happened to be there and he was super friendly to all the customers.

The food was delicious, and significantly higher quality than other local hot pot restaurants. The staff were also very friendly and attentive to our table. A fantastic dining experience for the entire family!

Came here for the chicken pot. First the place has a very nice ambiance. Can tell the owner put a lot of effort. Ordered the melon chicken pot, the soup was very good. Did not have a heavy MSG taste. The chicken is meant to be eaten on the side with their sauces. Can mix and match. Then after the soup comes the hotpot to finish. Overall good dining experience.

Glad I got to try this spot after stumbling on it by luck! The restaurant's specialty chicken coconut hotpot is delicious as others have mentioned. It also feels lighter than the spicy hotpot I'm used to, so I was able to eat more than usual. Typically, I would give a restaurant credit for being good enough at service. However, the service here was truly noticeably better. The servers were very polite and expedient, and they handle many of the initial steps of the hotpot. Note that the venue is small, so reservations are recommended!

Excellent hot pot place in Little Neck and this is *not* those usual AYCE hot pot. Coconut chicken hot pot is their specialty and it's a must try. They cut open fresh young coconuts at your table to make the hot pot soup, not the MSG soup base. All fresh ingredients, the chicken is really tender and all veggies are fresh. The house special combo comes with noodles also. You can add other items a la crate, which we did the beef and fried beancurd roll. Beef is great quality. Don't leave without trying the ginger sauce (one of the 3 condiments on table)! Staff were attentive. They answered our questions about the menu, refilled our tea and water from time to time. Nice place for a relaxed hearty meal. Definitely will come back to try their other hot pots, herbal chicken and papaya fish maw chicken (this is a delicacy).

Coconut chicken hot pot seems to be increasing in popularity and this place might have the best version that I've tried. Located on a small storefront in the heart of Little Neck, we walked by a few times but never indulged. Finally we went in and I'm glad we did. This place only serves mostly chicken dishes and the coconut chicken hot pot is the main attraction. They use fresh marinated chicken and cook it in coconut water. It sounds strange but its incredibly refreshing. The chicken comes out tender and sweet. You also get a bunch of the regular veggie add ons and other choices a la carte if you want. Default size is a pot for 2 which runs about 70 bucks (more than enough to eat). The hainan chicken here is also incredible. It's tender, juicy and this place has some of the best condiments for chicken I've had. Ginger scallion in oil, roasted chilis in oil, sweet soy sauce and chili sauce in vinegar are all on the table and incredibly fresh. Combining them all together makes the best dipping sauce ever. The coconut pudding is a perfect way to end the meal. Service here is excellent. The staff here is friendly and knows how to serve this meal properly to make sure you enjoy the food as the chef intended. Hard to find a fault here, will be a regular.

I ordered take out from here and I was surprised at how how good the hotpot was. They're known for their coconut chicken hotpot but we decided to get the chicken and intestine soup base. Everything was packaged really well and they definitely gave plenty of soup, with lots of chicken and intestines in every container. There was also some raw vegetables for you to add to your own pot when you heat it up but those were just basic vegetables. We could've also added additional ingredients that we wanted in our hotpot / that would've been packaged separately for that hotpot experience but we just chose not to for take out. Definitely would have added additional items if we were dining in though. The chicken and intestine soup base was surprisingly good, especially since I'm not a big fan of intestine soups cause it can sometimes be funky. This broth was very rich and hearty and the intestines weren't funky at all. There was also so much meat, like I mentioned above. We also got the Hainanese chicken that I found to be just okay. Meat was decently tender but there wasn't much flavor. I only stepped in briefly to pick up my order and inside was small but still had lots of seating. Everything was nice and clean and properly placed on the tables. They also gave a bunch of sauces with our take out which I'm sure would've been what they offered if you dined in. The spicy sauce in particular was delicious.

Royal Rooster in Little Neck, Queens is a true find! We dined as a family and enjoyed an unforgettable meal with an impressive lineup of dishes. We started with the Coconut and Fresh Chicken Soup and the Cordyceps Flower and Chicken Soup - both were wonderfully rich and clean-tasting, with no hint of MSG. The restaurant's theme is coconut, infusing it into almost every dish, adding a subtle, unique twist to the flavors. We tried the Duck and Taro Casserole stewed in coconut broth, which was flavorful and hearty, and the Stewed Beef with Curry, which also had a hint of coconut that enhanced the curry's aroma. This coconut infusion added a special touch without overpowering the dishes. The Stir-Fried Beef Flat Noodles captured that perfect smoky flavor from the wok, and their signature chili sauce added a delightful kick. The Hainanese Chicken, their specialty, was incredibly tender, and the homemade ginger and scallion sauce brought out its flavor beautifully. The Claypot Rice stole the show - the lightly crispy layer on the bottom added amazing texture without any bitterness. You can tell the chef has mastered the balance of heat. I also heard the chef trained at a renowned hotel in Guangzhou, China, which is clear in the authenticity and quality of each dish. To wrap up the meal, we tried their Coconut Sago Dessert and the Coconut Pudding, served in an actual coconut. Both desserts were just the right amount of sweet - light, refreshing, and perfect for cleansing the palate. With such reasonable prices for this level of quality, Royal Rooster is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Cantonese flavors. Highly recommend!
